About

Daniel Kroth is the Program Director of the Next Frontier Seminar (NFS) and a Research Scholar at the Berkeley Risk and Security Lab. As the Program Director for NFS, he oversees a multi-university fellowship program that identifies and cultivates outstanding student talent at the intersection of emerging technology and international affairs. His research portfolio centers on policymaker perceptions of emerging technology and the effects of technological change on interstate conflict.

Prior to joining BRSL, Daniel led the Public Security Policy Program at the Center for AI Risk Management and Alignment and co-directed NFS as a nonprofit organization. He has previously held research appointments at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Center for Global Security Research, at the Special Competitive Studies Project, and at the Wilson Center’s Science and Technology Innovation Program. He holds a MALD from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and is advancing doctoral dissertation research at Fletcher’s International Security Studies Program.
